The Nexus Journal theme tracker maps 3,380 NSE and BSE listed companies to 210 business themes across 27 sectors, as of 2026-08-04. The three largest themes by company count are Home Textiles & Furnish (102 companies), Chassis & Metal Parts (85 companies) and Pharma (80 companies). The median theme holds 11.5 companies, and 161 of 210 themes (77%) have at least 5 companies.

## Methodology

- Source: the Nexus Journal theme tracker's public company-to-theme mapping, data as of 2026-08-04. It is the same data as the theme stock lists under /theme-stocks.
- Universe: 3,380 NSE and BSE listed companies that have a theme, a name, and a symbol; rows missing any of these are excluded. BSE-only companies are identified by their numeric BSE code.
- Sectors are the theme tracker's own sector groupings, not an exchange or index classification.
- Market cap (₹ crore) and trailing-twelve-month (TTM) revenue and profit growth come from the theme tracker's market-data snapshot and exist for 1,535 companies (45%), all valued at ₹1,000 crore or more. Shares built on these figures describe those companies, not the whole market.
- "Grew" means growth above zero. A median is the middle value, or the average of the two middle values for an even count.
- A finding needs at least 20 companies behind it, and theme-level growth medians only use themes with at least 20 companies reporting the figure. A theme gets its own stock list at 5 or more companies.
- Percentages are rounded to the nearest whole number, so the shares in a table may not add up to exactly 100%.
- Refreshed when the theme tracker mapping is updated. "Last updated" is the date of the data, not the date the page was built.
- The study describes how listed companies are grouped. It does not rank, rate, or recommend any security and is not investment advice.
